I had a bit of a mini-meltdown last week. I hardly blogged (sorry peeps), I hardly cleaned (and…?), my ironing pile dwarfed and scared me (so I hid it in the spare room).
If it hadn’t been for the showers at Swim Club I doubt I would have bathed my children – I was pooped!
But this week I’m back on track and sharing with you my list of favourite spots in my home via the Listmania linky on Home Life Simplified.
Although finding areas not strewn with Playmobil and dog hair was a challenge but it’s amazing what a quick once over with a wet-wipe can achieve!
My bed… I like to read in it, sleep in it, cuddle in it, drink tea in it, dunk biscuits in my tea in it, paint my nails in it and do other grown up stuff in it, ahem…
I love my second-hand headboard which I paid €30 for, I love my Zara Home bedding and I love the ‘two single duvet thang’.
Most of all I love that Axel’s little toddler bed is right next to me. I can reach over and touch him as he sleeps or pull him into my bed for snuggles, bliss.
A small, but perfectly formed selection of my cookery books. I couldn’t fit them all in, I’ve over one hundred to date… moving on.
Our dining table is without doubt the centre of our home.
It’s where we eat, laugh, get drunk, argue, cry, shout, craft, climb and make a mess. And that’s just during homework time!
I adore this little corner of my kitchen… it makes me smile.
I like my second-hand flower pot and lamp, and I luuuuurve my little collection of turquoise glass.
Here are some of my tablecloths, they bring me such joy I’m almost embarrassed to admit how much.
I also love this cupboard as it’s organised and generally the rest of my house is a bit of a shit-hole, so I guess the attraction here is two-fold.
This is our arts & crafts cupboard, I’m featuring it purely to show off – look how neat it is!
I love looking in here, it’s a colourful treasure trove full of excitement, imagination and glitter just waiting to be unleashed all over the table, floor and pets.
I love, love, love my kitchen and particularly this little corner.
I spend more time in this room than anywhere in my house. It’s my refuge, it makes me happy, it calms me, it excites me.
It’s where I make Nutella sandwiches and pink milk, calm screaming children, talk on the phone, drink wine, laugh, gossip and lose myself in the solace of stirring.
Oh, did I already say I love my bed?
And the place I hate the most… the cupboard under the stairs, it scares me, mice like it

I am totally stealing the single duvet idea especially as Miss Three is constantly stealing ours or worse lying on it in such a way that I am left uncovered. I didn’t know Zara did homewares. I must check that out.
I’m a huge fan of the 2 duvet – you must give it a try! I luuuurve Zara Homewares, not too pricey either! I have a bad case of bedding lust when I’m in there.
Thanks for commenting! xxx

So glad you enjoy honey! Don’t you worry there’ll be lots more antics from Oskar… :/
I have EXACTLY the same homework experience – down to the getting drunk part! (me, not the kids). Lovely list. I I love the way everyone has put their beds! x
Homework… the bane of my life, it almost makes me weep!
Wish I was still in my bloody bed…
I can’t wait to read your list!
X
Yes defo my BED and my sofa, blisss…..also i must admit i love being in your house on a Sunday morning sitting on your sofa by the window, while your attempting your ironing, the kids playing, coffee, birds singing, the radio on and us chatting…..now that chills me xx
Me attempting ironing…? Ha Ha Ha! so funny!
I’ll finish that pile one-day hun, I’m bloody determined! lol
See you Sunday, I love out chatty days too x
Your bed looks awesome! I love how you have so much colour around your house! So uplifiting!
Ohhh why thank you, how kind!
I do love colour, our walls are all white and I’m addicted to bright things, so I suppose it just grew naturally.
A few years ago I also imposed a ‘no black clothes’ rule on myself. I hardly ever wear black now… colour is good x
Thank you for commenting!
I’m checking out your blog later!
I had to laugh how many people put bed as I (silly) thought it made me a homebody (negative) when I am just like everyone else.
I LOVE your blue glass on the tray (copying ASAP) and your single duvet idea is brilliant (my parents had 2 single beds together so my mom did not feel my dad moving around in his sleep. Adds up to a king!)
Also jealous of your tablecloth collection xx deb
Hi sweetie! Yes lots of us lovin’ our beds!
In Denmark everyone has 2 single duvets on the bed, initially I found it strange but now I couldn’t sleep another way, especially since I like to wrap my legs around the duvet, which drove Tom nuts as I pinned him down! lol
Do you have Zara Home over there? AMAZING tablecloths, I am pretty sure they ship worldwide.
x
My favorite spot? Probably my bed too. How can we not love our beds!??
I know… a haven, an escape and a sometimes fun place too! LOL x
Have to say, after a crappy week, your home is beautiful and tidy! I have a crappy week and I’ll be finding underpants in odd places for months!!!!
Strategic photography hun! I actually found popcorn in my bed and those tidy cupboards are courtesy of my cleaning fairy… aka my Mam! lol

Lucky you cwtched up in there already! Sunday mornings are my favourite, a lie in with a cup of fresh coffee and the daily news or Facebook… call what you will! lol
